There are many ways to get involved with your child’s learning and volunteer in the classroom. Below are some ways to get involved this year.

WISHLIST
If you’d like to help get Mrs. McHugh’s classroom stocked up for the year, you can find her amazon wishlist here.

SNACK CART
Mrs. McHugh keeps a snack cart for days where kids need a little extra bite. We’d love help keeping the snack cart refilled, feel free to drop off anything non perishable you’d like to contribute! Below are some suggestions:

• Popcorn

• Meat sticks

• Pretzels

• Veggie Straws

• Apple Sauce Pouches

• Water Bottles

FUN FRIDAYS/STUDENT STORE
If there are any parents who are willing to help run the student store on Friday afternoons.

MONTHLY CLASSROOM THEMES
The last Friday of each month we will change the classroom decor to the new monthly theme.

FIELD TRIPS
We will have one field trip each trimester and we can always use parent chaperones and drivers.

CLASS CELEBRATIONS
We will have various parties during the year. Three weeks prior to the party we will send a signup genius link through email for you to sign up for an item to contribute if you’d like.

POP-UP PARTIES
In addition to scheduled parties, once in a while the first graders might have a “pop up party” to celebrate things like math goals accomplished or the end of their chapter books. We’ll send an email within 24hours of those pop up parties for your situational awareness and to indicate if there is an opportunity for parent involvement.
